What is Disk Space?
Disk space is the amount of storage available to you on your hosting server. This is where all your website files are stored: HTML/CSS code, images, videos, databases, emails, and everything else. Think of it like your computer's hard drive — but located on a server.
How much space do you need?
Simple blog or site: 1-5 GB
Business site with photo galleries: 5-15 GB
Online store with hundreds of products: 15-50 GB
Portal with heavy multimedia content: 50+ GB
What is Bandwidth?
Bandwidth is the amount of data that can be transferred between the server and visitors within a specific period. The more visitors you have and the larger your files are, the more bandwidth you need.
How much bandwidth do you need? If your website has an average page size of 2MB and you expect 1,000 visitors/day who view 5 pages each, you would need approximately 300 GB of bandwidth per month.
What happens if you exceed them?
Full disk space: You cannot add new content or receive emails.
Exceeded bandwidth: The site may slow down or become inaccessible.
Practical Advice
Most modern hosting plans offer "unlimited" disk space and bandwidth — but read the fine print. In practice, if your site has normal traffic levels, you will not encounter problems.
