What is a Domain? – Domain name shows your internet address. Unlike a real name, determining a domain name (or several domains) is not difficult.
The domain name consists of two parts: The host name and the domain extension. For example at Yahoo.com, ‘Yahoo’ is the host name, and ‘.com’ is the domain extension.
In addition to the .com, .net, and .org domain extension names which are generic names, each state may have its own corresponding extension name derived from its own state name. For example .al for Albania, .co.nz for New Zealand, and co.uk for the United Kingdom. The United States has its own .us suffix, but that is rarely used.
